Lots more info there!

The first Simons that we come across in Glascoed, to date at least, is Edward Simons, who farmed at Glascoed Fach farm (translated as “Little Glascoed). I believe that this would have been in the early 1900s. Edward was born in approximately 1862 and married Sarah. They had at least two children, Albert J Simons and Flossie. Edward, Sarah and Flossie are all buried at Monkswood churchyard. Their gravestone reads as follows:

In Loving Memory of SARAH, wife of EDWARD SIMONS, of Glascoed Vach, who died Jan 8th 1930, Aged 65. My Toil is O’er and God has chosen me to rest. Also of the above EDWARD SIMONS died June 29th 1936, aged 74. Resting. (Also?) of FLOSSIE, their daughter.

Their son Albert, farmed at the Wern farm, Glascoed initially and some years later took over the Hill Farm in the hamlet.
