Lots more info there!

James was a shoe maker by trade. He was born cir 1780 in Monmouthshire.

He married Ann Jones at Usk Parish Church on 25th February 1803. Both parties were Glascoed residents. They had several children including Leonard, James and Thomas Edwards. Leonard was christened on 11th March 1804, James on 5th April 1808. I have not been able to find a christening record for Thomas. He was born in approximately 1815 at Glascoed. James was noted as a Corvicer (shoe maker) on the baptism register when his son James was baptisted.

James and Ann were living together at Pentwyn, a smallholding at Glascoed in 1841 with Thomas, their son (aged “20”) and an Ann Edwards (I assume another daughter) aged “15”.

By the time of the 1851 census, James had died, leaving Ann as a widow, living with Thomas her son and his new wife, Mary (I assume Maria) Edwards.
